Smokestack night time.....

It started raining about half six this morning and didn’t let up until about 5 pm tonight . That’s over another half inch in the rain gauge.
The herd away to St Boswell’s mart with a load of sheep then when he got back, a quick fold up of the sheep decks in the trailer, loaded up 3 cull cows and I headed off back down again. Had Littlemiss , a collie and a terrier for company. It was pea soup up over Soutra hill but the A68 fairly quiet for some reason.
Dropped the cows off, washed out the trailer, a quick mask clad nip to the canteen for a roll and sausage, left my contact details , then back up the road and home by 1pm.
An afternoon spent checking over and greasing the silage feeder in anticipation of bringing cattle onto the slatted shed and then a quick dog plod tonight, just as the sun was setting.
And time for bed said Zebadee !
