The house was dark and looked empty. The black bin was full to the brim. A lonely gnome tarried in the flower border. Two scooters and a bike, some green fencing and two Dyson vacuum cleaners stood next to the bin, regardless of the council injunction not to leave rubbish next to the black bin.
