Who’s that girl?
So I found out about 3 weeks ago, that my Monday practice had nominated me for ‘Best Dental Hygienist’ at this years Private Dentistry Awards.
I was shocked, to say the least but also overwhelmed and overjoyed that they think enough of me (after only joining the team in June) to put me forward for an award.
The entry itself was amazing; featuring screenshots from my social media page, testimonials from staff and patients and a mention about my involvement with the Blood Bikes charity, plus the recent headshots we had taken for the website.
Reading it through made me a bit emotional; I did wonder who they were on about.....I’m sure it’s not me!
As much as that shocked me, there are no words to describe how I felt when she called me on Friday to say I’d made it to the final!!!!
Apparently, the organisers have had the highest ever number of entries this year (I’m guessing people with time on their hands during lockdown), so to be shortlisted in all our nominated categories (7 in total) is fantastic and I think testament to the great work we do as a team.
The final should have been a glitzy affair at the Grosvenor hotel in London, but due to covid isn’t everything??? it’s now being done online. Our boss is planning our own little awards evening at the clinic, where we can get dressed up, have some food and watch the event online.
Even if we don’t win, I feel like I have already. Having finally found a place that makes me feel so valued is winning in my book ;-)
