Closed hides at WWT Barnes

Today we made a quick visit to the WWT at Barnes as my husband wanted to try to see the Jack Snipe which was sighted there yesterday. No sign of it today! So few people there compared to previous visits at this time of year. The cafe was closed and some of the hides including the big one called Peacock Tower seen in the photo. Look carefully at bottom right hand side and there is a kingfisher sitting on the fence mostly hidden by vegetation.
Despite being chilly we had a nice walk round and spent quite a while watching the pair of otters playing and swimming...moving too fast to get a good blip!
Much of the reserve looks rather overgrown and neglected, presumably because they no longer have lots of volunteers working there.
This year we have now visited four times (blip 17 January), the day before our lockdown in March (blip 18 March), (blip July 11th) and today.
