Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Good enough to eat.... But I won't!

Up and out at 9am today to go to the pharmacy for my flu jab. I was allowed to break my self isolation for it as medical appointments are permitted, it may also have helped that the pharmacy is around 50m from our front door and I was the first person in the shop apart from the pharmacist! So I have now had my winter flu jab, what a palaver.
Other than that I had no desire whatsoever to go out as it has rained for most of the day. So it was another busy day indoors and mainly in the kitchen. I finished off the elderflower rob and it is now all bottled up. I've put all the extra empty jam jars and kilner bottles into the garage, as, apart from cranberry sauce in a couple of months, I think I've finished foraging and preserving for the year. The cupboards are full to bursting. I'll give lots of it away but not until visiting its allowed again and the girls and Colin will also make quite an impression on it too.
Were having roast chicken for dinner tonight, it's one of my favourites and just the thing on a dreich October day.
My blip today was in the middle of the front garden. I don't know what type of toadstool it is but hopefully the field mice and birds will know and enjoy them. (or avoid them as the case may be).

Keep safe everybody, these tougher rules aren't easy but let's hope they are shortlived

Steps today around the house only 4300
