Mulch and compost
Managed to get a walk without a single raindrop, but since I got home, the rain's been pelting down. It's dark, needed the lights on in the early afternoon.
I saw a man emptying bins of leaves into his truck and had a brief conversation with him. I think G will be gathering leaves from around our place soon to mulch the garlic. Good for compost too, as the man said. He also said that we're lucky to be able to gather the leaves around our place, less work. We're up a bit higher, so the leaves at our place are just starting to turn and fall. I assume the ladder was to put on top of the leaves to keep them from blowing away. The reflections of leaves in the bumper caught my eye as well.
1st extra: As I was walking along the road by Hamilton Beach, I thought I smelled something fishy. There by the side of the road in among the leaves was a huge fish head. Not sure if someone gutted the fish on the beach and an animal or eagle moved it by the road.
2nd extra: Some of the boats that are kept down at the beach have plenty of leaves around and on them.
3rd extra: G finished staining the cedar in the front porch and it looks great. I think the frog looks great on it too!
