Stanes o Stofast

A mixture of weathers today, some fine lovely sunny spells, some clouds and some showers.  Calm this morning, breezy in the afternoon, calm tonight.

Up early, and chores this morning.  I headed down to mam's in the late morning.  We have been planting 50 Alaskan willows.  More walkies in the afternoon, and then walkies with friend Julie and dogs this evening.  Big Brian and Madeline popped by with a freezer emergency.  Their freezer broke, and need to save what they could.  Feet up by the fire now.

A bit of a soggy hike on foot, but I finally made it to the Stones of Stofast.  These massive boulders were once a 2,000 tonne glacial erratic, left on top of the hill when the ice melted, and broken up over time from freeze-thaw.  The boulders still make an impressive sight, and a good focal point for a walk.  Note me and Sammy on the Stones of Stofast, Lunna Ness.
