Kirkdale Ramble

Thank you for the kind comments about the postponed wedding. Hopefully their trip to the Yorkshire Dales will be a welcome distraction. 

We left it late to decide on a walk today but decided to stay relatively local to avoid any clamour of people heading for the coast. We started near St Gregory’s Minster and enjoyed a circular walk through a dry valley known locally as a howl. Then dropped back down into the valley leading back to the Minster. The main caught my eye at the ford as we set off.

Update from the cancellation of the Railway in Wartime. Pickering Police issued a clear warning: 
*NOTICE* Although it has been cancelled, people are still attending Pickering for the war weekend. If people continue to attend we will have to consider enforcement of the current rules to protect both the local population and visitors alike.
It had the desired effect and it was much quieter today.
