Guess I'm not the only one...
...who likes to pick up pretty leaves in the Fall. It was strange because all the geese were laying down up on top of the grassy hill; not a single one in the water. Maybe they decided to let the ducks have the water to themselves, as there had to be at least 20 of them swimming near shore. Lots of gulls walking on the sand & in the shallower water as well. Not long after I saw this gull pick up a leaf, I saw the gull in the extras pick up a stone.....who knew they were such collectors? :)) (These are both ring billed gulls; the gull in the main photo is probably a "first winter", meaning it's just starting to get some of it's grey feathers. It can take a gull up to 4 years to fully transition into it's adult grey and white colors.)
