Kimberley sunset

I had hoped to share the view from our balcony at The Kimberley Club and it’s famous old world charm. That wasn’t possible because the place has not opened again post lockdown.

This seemed to come as a big surprise to Hotels.com who happily took our money last month. A chirpy Kristine from Phoenix, AZ, did little to lighten the mood when she insisted I keep on the line for over an hour while she try and resolve things, which of course she wasn’t able to so the fight for our refund continues.

Fortunately the Marriot just up the road came in a close second and the bottle of Glen Carlou Syrah with supper went down a treat.
