Burghill

Day 200 of COVID-19 UK opening up and partial locking down again!

During the week a book I ordered, 'Top 10 Herefordshire Walks' arrived and Mrs BB chose White Cross to Burghill as the one to do today. It was supposed to be 8 miles but we got lost twice and ended up walking a solid 5 hours and doing about 12 miles!  It appears landmarks described in the walk disappeared years ago throwing us off track.

The blipfoto shows an Orchard with Burghill House in the background. I must confess we scrumped a couple of apples which were gorgeous! Later in the walk we walked straight through a corn field - guess what's for starter this evening?

The extra is a Memorial in the churchyard at Burghill of 10 brave American airmen who crashed nearby and were killed on 18th August 1944.
