Anyone Want Some Wood?

This is one of the trees uprooted in the storm the other week. It's been cut down, and cut up, but that's as far as it's got. It's not in anyone's way, so they are probably not in any hurry to shift it.

Years ago, when I lived in the UK, we used to have 2 wood burning stoves and we would have loved a tree like this.

My husband and I used to spend our week-ends cutting down trees, cutting them up, loading them onto a friend's truck and then stacking them in a wood shed.

Lots of hard work, very time consuming, but I loved every minute of it. Loads of fresh air and exercise after sitting in an office all week. It got a bit more difficult when the children came along, but we still seemed to manage to do it.
