Covid Theatre
The Playhouse in Leeds had opened its doors and E needed a culture fix. We indulged in a bit of live Covid theatre as an antidote to the Covid theatre we watch every day through the amateur dramatics of the government.
We watched Samuel Beckett's "Krapp's Last Tape" amongst this small audience here, before moving to the main theatre for Testament's "Orpheus in the Record Shop". That was an amazing spectacle, incredible beatboxing, great storytelling, brilliant rap and inspiring music (including some virtuoso harp). I will never forget the sight of a rapper wearing a Bruce Lee T-shirt conducting members of the Opera North Orchestra. It was so great to hear live music again. The fear is that there might not be another chance for a some while.
