Identified Un-Flying Objects
These greedy pigeons normally fly away if I tap the window. Don't get me wrong, they don't fly away with any sense of urgency. They flap away like overloaded jumbo jets and usually struggle up to the nearest low branch and then flop on the grass with their legs in the air. I'm exaggerating about the legs in the air, but you get the idea I'm sure.
Today they were there at 10.30am and were still there at midday, ignoring my tapping on the window. After about two hours of stuffing themselves, I spotted them both swaggering up the lawn. I could almost see them belching. I'm glad I don't hang washing out on the line as I reckon it would be splattered with the amount those two pig-eons have been eating. They surely must have stomach ache?
As you know, I always have the radio burbling away in the background while I am working. There isn't usually too much music to distract me on BBC Radio WM but the one presenter - Caroline Martin - who does a show every weekday at midday - was today talking about UFOs as there is supposed to be a near miss tonight by a meteor and also songs that people say are their guilty pleasures. What really bothered me was that I liked virtually all of these so called 'guilty pleasures!'
I have never been ashamed of any music I have liked in the past, mainly as I reckon I have excellent taste and know something of good quality when I hear it! I am slightly kidding but also I hasten to add that you can't count music I used to like when I was 14 i.e. Culture Club and Boy George - my God! That's horribly embarrassing! - but I was young and even more stupid then so I think that's allowed!
Track today? It was someone else's guilty pleasure but I had forgotten this marvellous band and actually saw UFO at the old Digbeth Civic Hall, which later became The Institute night club. No idea what it is now. It was a brilliant concert and I remember seeing Nazereth the night after! Ah that was a good week for music! Sorry I am waffling. Today's track is UFO - Doctor Doctor
