Holding pattern
I've now put in a photo from the right date.
To be honest this is a photo from a few days back. I’ll change it tomorrow when I have the willpower to download photos from my ‘real camera’. Anyway. This is what happens when you harvest walnuts.
I’ve been sitting here watching a tiny mouse skittering about the living room. Just a wee scrap. Then I felt something climbing up the inside of my jeans’ leg. Might have been mousey. I stamped and snorted.
There are a load of bloody shield beetles around- stinkbugs in American. Looking to overwinter in our architectural crevices.
Cleared up the lane today after strimming yest. Then off to stock up at the Subbiano co-op as the chances of a lockdown ratchet up. It’s a great shop and has Laphroiag. Masks, gel, gloves and a load of food. Very little home delivery here.
We are already living in OCDS - Overseas Covid Distress Syndrome . A state of heightened anxiety - the we’ve-been-here-before-please-God-don’t-let-it-happen-again syndrome. The is-that-tickle-on-the-back-o-your-throat syndrome.
Carrot face would be mightily disappointed in us. But he can go do one.
Up to 22C today. Wonderful in the sun. Saw a guy who’d come up to look for porcini - seps. Neanche un’ombra. Not even a shadow of one. Gianni said the same. The ground is too cold after all the rain. A lot of guys make an income supplement collecting porcini.
God. Bring warm still nights.
