Today's the day …………………….. to 'have a little fishy'

Fish and chips for tea tonight from the Chippy in the Harbour Square in Kirkcudbright.

We could have brought it home and eaten it on plates in the kitchen with a knife and fork - but how much nicer to eat it, then and there, down in the harbour!  Some of the fishing fleet were lining the quay, moored up for the night - or until the next high tide - and all was peaceful.

There was a notice on the wall that must have been there for years - about the prevention of rabies, forbidding the landing of animals from abroad.  So that would be no cats, dogs, rats, rabbits, monkeys or - hamsters ……………………?
