At the End

Dear Diary,

John and I (well, mostly John) got half of the garden cut back.  He will finish it off on Monday.  These ferns have put on a beautiful show all summer but they have reached the end.  They will rest over the long winter and awaken next spring.  I like their curled up brown fronds.  We will have a lovely warm weekend I am happy to say; a last taste of summer.
