Breaking and Mending

This is an autobiographical account of her time as a medical student and as a junior doctor. She describes herself as a "wild card" medical student: she left school aged 15, and returned to study for her A-Levels in her thirties. Subsequently she graduated from the University of Leicester Medical School in 2010. She worked as a junior doctor in general hospitals before specialising in psychiatry which is where she had always seen herself working. Her description of life as a junior doctor is mostly horrendous and has a lot in common with Adam Kay's This is Going to Hurt. I'm so glad she found her niche in psychiatry. This wasn't the cheeriest of reads, but it was engrossing.
