The Rabbit Hole
One of my favorite things about this project is that I go into a day thinking "I know exactly what I will take a picture of" and I end up taking a picture of something completely different. Today I was sure that I was going to take a picture of a glass of tea because I was having tea with a friend of mine. I was going to be "thankful for the tea because it brought my friend and I together." And don't get me wrong-I am very thankful for that. But on our way to tea-my friend showed me a "secret" part of campus. He showed me an abandoned chapel behind some trees. It was unbelievable. I never knew that our campus had a chapel. It is falling apart now but you can enter and see the paintings on the roof and the altar. It was seriously like entering a different world that was right here all along.
I know this isn't the best picture I have taken-but the story behind it is what counts. I am thankful for surprises...but more importantly I am thankful that a friend showed me something new in a place I thought I knew well. We then went to have tea...
