Circle of leaves

I went for a walk about 45 minutes before sunset, so the light was already fading by the time I got this photo. The scene is still pretty.

Today I found out some disturbing news. My brother, whom I am mostly estranged because he's become angry and racist, apparently went on a racist rant in public last year. I heard this fourthhand from my cousin (coffee shop employees to one cousin to his sister to me), and I don't have details. What apparently happened was he was sitting outside the coffee shop yelling at customers and accosting them when they sat down. He shouted racist things including the N-word. The shop banned him from there.

We weren't raised like that at all. Since the 2016 election, he's changed completely. Somehow when Hillary Clinton got nominated, he flipped. He supported Bernie Sanders, a Democratic socialist. Before my brother left Facebook, he ranted about communism, made racists comments, shared right-wing memes, called women hysterical when they argued with him, and other wild things that the right is pushing people to do. He's always been a loner, and his overnight job has kept him like that, but he's gotten worse over the last four years. Now he's a die-hard supporter of the man in the White House.

I don't understand it. I wonder if he had a stroke or has a brain tumor. That's the only way I can see why his personality would change so suddenly and dramatically.
