High Fidelity

Went to FOPP, my favourite record store in Glasgow, the name said to originate from the title of a song by the Ohio Players on their 1975 album Honey.

My album of the day is "Swordfishtrombones" by Tom Waits. His career splits neatly in two, before Swordfishtrombones and after. His song writing approach can be sentimental as well as fiercely avant-garde, no ear worms but definitely an acquired taste, my highlight is "In The Neighbourhood".
