Russian Laquered Box

I spent a lot of the 1990s in the Former Soviet Union and picked up a few of these papier mache boxes along the way.   This is the first one I bought; in the GUM department store off Red Square in Moscow.  

Feeling a little under the weather today - hopefully bouncing back as the day goes on.
