Hubris

Or, "hybris" in swedish. I went to Kalmar for a few errands today and also visited a photo exhibition at a friends gallery. Opposite his gallery was this remarkable house, looking like it was built during the 17th century with its stepped gables and sandstone facade and a bit too pompous entrance. Knowing that the area in older times was a poor part of town with mostly small, wooden fishing houses, this house looks totally out of place. It also says over the entrance that it's built in 1920 which explains it. Someone must have had the need, and the money, to distinguish his building from the neighbouring houses.

Inside the house is a very nice gallery though that I didn't know about. In fact it moved here not long ago with its new owners. So, I suddenly had a mini gallery tour, and a pleasant one as well.

The rain is upon us from southern Europe but temperatures are very mild for the time of year, tomorrow is going to be even warmer, almost twenty degrees and a bit of sun too. That will be nice.
