New car! (For Dan)

I posted this photo to Instagram earlier with the caption "#brexit". For me, it certainly sums up the direction that I feel the country is headed in, if in a somewhat abstract manner. As if the calamity of the virus and the government's incompetence in dealing with that wasn't enough, our national bus is rapidly approaching the cliff edge that will see us plunge out of the EU. I honestly don't understand why people aren't more concerned about it.

I took the picture at a second hand car dealership near Chorley. I was at a loose end because the owner forgot that I was coming to pick up the car we've bought for Dan now that he can resume his lessons. In the end I had an hour and a half wait while the dealer drove back from Blackpool but at least I got my German done :-)

After that, I took a cautious drive up the A6 but the car was great so I joined the M6 at South Lancaster and gave it a spin on the motorway, which was also absolutely fine.

Dan is not enthusiastic about driving; I think he has suffered from only having lessons until now and no opportunity to practise. I don't think he's had a chance to really enjoy the experience of driving. Abi, on the other hand, who starts learning next year, is far more enthusiastic about the car, as you can see from my extra!
