Afternoon Tea
This morning 5 of us gathered at the tower and rang for morning service. The first time we have rung since March. Some of the ringing was a little rusty and different from the norm. We only rang 5 bells so that we were distanced from each other and the ringing only lasted 15 minutes. We rang very simple stuff, rounds and called changes.
We were pleased to ring this morning to mark the first communion service taken by the curate following his ordination yesterday at Chester Cathedral.
We receive lots of positive comments and a lovely email from the vicar.
As long as there are no further restrictions we will continue to ring on Sundays. We will take it in turns as we will be limited to ringing 5 bells.
What a change in the weather from yesterday's downpour. We took the chance to walk up to the walled garden in the sunshine. Unfortunately the cafe was fully booked so no afternoon tea for us.
The farmer had just dropped off some feed for the beasts in this field. So they enjoyed their afternoon tea.
