Thunder Valley

A late evening thunderstorm rolls up the Grose Valley, heading for Katoomba and Mount Victoria.

This is my "backyard". Some 600 square kilometres of it. It's a part of the Blue Mountains National Park. As blippers from any other continent can plainly see, we don't actually know what mountains are here in Australia... ;)

But some of our Valleys are pretty impressive. This one stretches some 30 kms west (in the direction of this photo). There's not a road or house anywhere in that 600 km^2 space. But there are millions of gumtrees, thousands of wallabies and a few kangaroos. Millions of snakes. And I don't even want to think of how many spiders...
