Au Revoir New Zealand

Possibly - no, without a doubt - one of the worst photos I have ever blipped. But it signifies what happened today.

We left New Zealand to fly home to Adelaide. This is us crossing the Alps on the way to the West Coast.

We got home safely this afternoon, to find that there was quite a serious grass fire above my beloved Brownhill Creek last night. I don't think it got down to the Creek luckily, but I'll be there tomorrow morning to survey the damage. Seems that two youngsters were cooking fish on a portable gas fire, and spilt some hot fat.

They have been charged with negligently starting a fire. It's a good job our guys were onto it fast. It's so close to where we live, and if it had taken a hold - well, the consequences would have been horrendous for the whole of the Belair/Blackwood area.

Not happy!
