Sarasoti Puja

Today all school kids get the day off and go to pray to the Goddess of knowledge, presumably to bring them said knowledge to improve their general well being. I got up early this morning to go to the temple to gets some shots and it was great. It was busy and bells were ringing and kids were all around being blessed and almost thrown into the shrine to touch heads with Sarasoti herself!

All the walls of the shrine were being covered in chalk writing. Apparently it is the tradition to write lots of things around the shrine, in some kind of echo of the classroom . I don't think this little girl really knew what she was writing, but hopefully she will be filled with the Goddesses powers in the future. I think she will.

After that it was work and we celebrated "DidiBahini day", where we celebrated our NGO's being and also did our own "puja" to the aforementioned Goddess. and then we ate some curry :-P
