A break in the rain

After raining for almost 24 hours non stop it actually stopped for a short while. We hopped in the car and went off to Trent Park, our nearest large green space with lots of trees to shelter under when it started again. The leaves of the oak and beech trees have not really started to turn yet but the bracken was looking good.
We picked crab apples in our park for a friend who is going to make crab apple vodka (as a liqueur l think) and with any left will try a crabapple cheese, l checked the recipe but far too much sugar.
