Wet wet wet

As expected, we woke up to persistent rain. However by the time we had breakfast and were ready to take Xena for a walk it has stopped raining and we were lucky to have a dry walk. After the walk I quickly made some butternut soup for lunch which was a good choice for today's weather.

Last night a friend sent me a WhatsApp to say they would be driving past our village today and did we want to meet for a dog walk and a coffee. I said yes to the coffee but said it would probably be too wet and wild for a dog walk. So after our soup we met at our local cafe for coffees and as the weather was unexpectedly much better than forecast and dry, we dashed home to get Xena and went to the heath with them and had a lovely long walk. I did take my camera but we were chatting so much that I never took any photos, other than this one of a large puddle!

After our walk I made a curry for supper, and now I am getting ready to dial in on zoom to celebrate someone's 60th birthday, glass of bubbly in hand!
