The Big Band from Birdland

Tonight at the university we saw the traveling Birdland Big Band, led by drummer Tommy Igoe. This group performs each Friday at the legendary jazz club in New York City, reincarnated from Broadway and 52nd St to West 44th Street. The band has been together for 6 years and is one of the more exciting large jazz ensembles around.

This was a shot of the cute little bar at Roko, a tasty Italian restaurant, where we had an early dinner prior to the concert.
