Lands End to John O’Groats

A day of supporting the Cumbria leg of an epic Lands End to John O’Groats cycle challenge. The thumbnail shows Sam and Jack who are attempting this epic cycle challenge. My son Matthew and friend Gus decided to cycle along from Kendal to Wetheral (near Carlisle). Due to some navigational difficulties Gus and Matthew set off from Kendal hoping that Jack and Sam would catch them up. However another interesting detour meant the friends didn’t meet up until Shap at the top of the largest climb of the day.

The main just had to be the four friends together at Shap. The collage of extras show Matthew ( in blue and black kit) and Gus on the climb up from Kendal. By the end of the ride they all looked rather weary. However the weather was kind and it remained dry. 

We collected the two bikes and left for home. We haven’t driven at night for rather a long time. So by the time we got home at 10pm we were rather tired!
