Drenched
Well didn’t I pick the perfect day for a shopping trip to Manchester!
I got absolutely soaked. I may as well have jumped in the Irwell.
Deansgate is closed, which meant the bus was diverted. The driver said my nearest stop for the return trip was Chapel Street, but didn’t say exactly where.
Geography isn’t my strongest point and Mr A will attest that while I can usually remember a route once I’ve done it, I’ve no idea when it comes to road names. Although Google helped me find Chapel St, it had no idea where the bus stop was.
Testament to my crap sense of direction, I headed off down Chapel St the wrong way. It was only when my Primark bags collapsed on me paper bags in the rain ffs that I had the sense to google the actual stops for the bus.
Thus ensued a mad panic to squash what shopping I had into 2 tiny carrier bags and run like the wind more of a gentle breeze if I’m honest back down the street to find the bus stop, with minutes to spare.
Of course, the bus was late so I’d got all hot and bothered for nothing!
Back home, it was time to dry off, have a well earned cuppa and put my feet up for a marathon session of my latest guilty pleasure.....Married at first sight: Australia :-)
