Group Valentine

We decided to do Valentines as a household rather than 4 individual couples. Hamp5on and D did drinks (caipirinhas to start!) and laid the table beautifully with place names and gifts! Sam and I did the starter (salmon on seeded crackers with olives). lovingSutton (mum) and Dad did the main (steak, potatoes, asparagus, corn on the cob, mushrooms, onions, and salad). And Ju (sister) and her boyfriend Nick were in charge of dessert (a chocolate torte with a white chocolate and vanilla sauce, raspberries and topped with little red hearts made out of icing which Julia had rolled out and cut!). All in all, pretty wonderful!

Sam surprised me with an amazing gift too - individually beautifully wrapped it was a selection of lots of my favourite things :) and a handmade card.

I'm normally rather critical of Valentines day and how shops make money out of it - but today has been a lovely day of our little community working together to make a lovely memory!
