Dahlia Time

October is the prime month to visit the local dahlia garden, before the flowers are harvested, and the tubers removed for the winter.  It wasn't a perfect day to photograph flowers - windy and very sunny - but it was my only opportunity to get up there this week.  I decided to drag my equipment, including sun shield and tripod, which I generally don't bother with.  I'm glad I did, but it meant fewer shots in the time I had because of all of the tinkering to get positioned just right.
