Retinal scan

It was fortuitous bumping into Leigh in TK Maxx as I browsed for a new pillow to replace the one I’ve sweated into at Heidi’s for the past six months. Leigh and I recognised each other via only our eyes and I wondered how more acquaintance-based relationships will fare during the period of enforced mask-wearing. I’ve long thought that the UK is already so full of awkward exchanges that I can’t imagine the Covid world will do anything to sharpen social skills.

After an impromptu beverage with Leigh it was a day of ‘life admin’. Passport photos, key cutting, calculating bills, recycling electrical equipment, laundry, and appreciating the magnificence of St John’s College Chapel.
