National Poetry Day 2020

Poetry books on my shelf. I used to have a lot more but gave quite a few to the charity shop when we moved to this smaller house, with smaller rooms and smaller shelves.

My Mum was from the North East - Whitley Bay and then moved to Lancaster where I was born.

She Loved a Good Poyem - by Lizzie

My Mum could never resist a 'poyem'
But they had to rhyme for her to enjoy 'em
If I had homework to write a verse
She'd grab a pen and make it hers
Once, the teacher marked it for fun
'Tell Mum, Ten out of Ten - Well done!'
Anyway, my Mum passed it on to me
Her endless love of 'poyetry'!
