Don't you just hate the commercialisation around 14th Feb? All that red. So many hearts. Bad Poetry Day. Dripping insincerity. Radio Two schmaltz. Air-lifted roses. Cliche crashing against cliche.

And yet ... you can just surrender, avoid the excesses ... and it might be wonderful.
