We made a U-turn today, well, more like an about-turn. Is that the same thing? The boat is usually nose-in to the pontoon, but due to an annoying and persistent ingress of water (I.e. a leak) in the aft cabin, the Ards Man has a bit of investigative fiddling to do. This is more easily done from the pontoon, rather than hanging off the back of the boat with his derrière hanging over the water.

So today being sunny and relatively calm, weather-wise, the AM turned the boat around and reversed in to the pontoon. What fun! It is far easier to step on to the boat via the ‘sugar scoop’ stern (like the first boat on the right) rather than throwing a leg over the side and hauling yourself up.

On first inspection the problem isn’t where he thought it was, so this may take some time. I’m happy enough!

Another benefit is that the stern of the boat is now south-facing, so is a little sun trap! I may bring over a little bottle of vino for a night aboard.... :)
