Is it a castle or a block of tenements

Standing at bus stop on way home this evening. I looked up and wondered. What are the steps for? Doesn't it look like other flats in the old town.

I think the pet cemetry is in the area between the 2 walls. I have 2 days off together for the first time in several weeks. What will I do- apart from the hoovering, laundry, tidying etc. Oh yes- I'll listen to music, read, watch some movies- who knows what the mood will take.
