Thursday: One Billion Rising: Zagreb

As many of you know, today was the day of One Billion Rising  

There was also an event in Zagreb this afternoon.  I had wanted to go anyway, privately, but then we got an official invitation to attend so I got to go for work too.  Not that that matters - it was great to be there whatever the reason. There were about 30 dancers and I am estimating about 200 people.  The event was due to go on until this evening with free concerts etc.  Considering the cold, I think that was a good turn out.

It was hard to get decent shots but I am not that bothered about that today.  This was an incredible event - anything like this that comes together on a global scale is so impressive.

What was also amazing was the number of men, particularly young men, who were showing their support, by displaying the 'One Billion Rising' stickers and getting really into the event.  The Croatian President, who is also a member of the UN's Network of Male Leaders working on this issue was also there and speaking.
