Marjorie's ramblings

Those cows again

It's been a grey and windy day.

I'm not quite sure where the day went to. I was on the exercise bike for 1.25ml this morning. That took 7 minutes. (I'm gradually increasing from 1 mile.) After lunch I had a walk to Haughton Mains Farm and back.

My favourite cows/older calves were in one of the fields and they came down to the stream to drink. The water must be very tasty if this one is anything to go by. Either that or they are rude!

I fettled two large pans of apples into puree. Our apples go fluffy when they cook which I like.

I roasted a chicken for our main meal. We watched the news. That was miserable. The presidential debate was a disgrace and should have been stopped. Lockdown rules here remain very complicated, but the numbers of infections are getting dangerously high.

On the cheerful side, my friend Maureen, who had the cerebral haemorrhage, was well enough to be transferred to an ordinary ward from High Dependency today. We are all so relieved that the bleed did not cause any damage. Whether we can persuade her to rest remains to be seen!
