Safe from invasion!
Capt. Bassett inspected the loophole tower at Vazon and confirmed it is in tip top condition. While he did his inspection I entertained with the story of the 1372 French invasion which resulted in the naming of Battle Lane and Rouge Rue. But more importantly explains why most Guernsey people tend to be short. The story of the invasion morphed into a fairy tale of an invasion of fairies who claimed Guernsey girls as their wives.
We then went on to have a tour of the Shell Shrine and the Martello tower and bunkers.
All part of the Autumn Walking Festival!
