Lake Lyell

Lake Lyell is a reservoir near Lithgow. The dam was primarily constructed to supply water for the big coal fired power stations near Wallerawang. Thing is the existing power stations are nearing the end of their working lives (one has already closed) and in time will be replaced by renewable alternatives. Much of this water may not be needed in the future. Who can say? In any event, with all the rain, the dam is nearing 100% capacity - which can never be a bad thing, you'd reckon.
