Outside of the ridiculousness of the commercialized part of Valentine's Day, if we choose to see today simply as a reminder of the people we love, then it's equally a day to remind us of the vulnerability we confront when we open our hearts. This week in class we started our poetry unit and it's been through watching my students be vulnerable, open, and taking risks that I'm reminded of how rich the rewards can be...

This message on the poem made me smile and remember how thin the line can be between teaching and learning.. What a sweet lesson I taught them at the beginning of the year to have come back to me!
