Bollictics...

There is an election soon in Scotland and I'm finding myself increasingly annoyed at the whole affair. Don't get me wrong I'm not completely ignorant of all things political, I don't switch off my brain when I bump into it. I probably don't know as much as I should and I haven't really looked into the latest promises of the party I will most likely vote for either.

However I do get very annoyed at the campaigns the parties run and the antics of their supporters. Last year there was a local election in my town and that was crazy with party members wanting to talk to you and leaflets and rubbish put through your house letterbox. One of things that annoys me the most is that major parties in the election run a campaign of telling you the lies of the others. I have leaflets that tell me if I vote for anybody other than themselves that it is a wasted vote and only they are telling the truth and are the right way forward for Scotland. All of them do it. They stand on your local High Street with with balloons to give to your kids like that's going to make your mind up when you go to vote. They come to your door and argue with you, I had one guy last year ask me if I would vote Lib Dem to stop Labour getting the seat and I said that that was a fairly poor reason to vote for one party or another and he looked at me like I was dirt, on my own frigging doorstep as well.

As you can tell I'm fed up with it already. I've voted for the same party since I was eighteen and I doubt I'll change unless something drastically bad happens. The crap written on the windows of the picture don't annoy me for the statement they make but purely on the fact that they will still be seen weeks or months after the whole thing is finished and it will piss me off every time.

On election days I do go to the voting station hoping that some candidate or party member will try and persuade me at the station. You know how they hang about outside and smile at you and try and make up their minds if your approachable or not, well they haven't got near me yet. Must be the pissed off glare I give them.
