Time for the spring clean by our area's chimney sweep. Done twice a year.

UK forced the EU to deregulate the German chimney sweep laws that were highly regulated but also highly effective. You don't hear of chimney fires in Germany but even some Germans complained about the enormous powers given to them which many claim are greater than the police. We get on very well with ours, Angie meets him naked almost every week after the "Back (spine) training" workout course they do at the local sports centre when they do the relaxing sauna session!

Chimney sweeping is now open to Scottish or Swedish or Greek sweeps but haven't had any knock on the door. And anyway a control visit has to be carried out by law by the district sweep to ensure, the chimney is being cleaned according to the laws. And this control is done by the same person! Would add, that in the event of a fire, the sweep is responsible!
