Baking day..

Mr Bee volunteered to go to the shop for butter and eggs so that I could make some cherry and chocolate muffins. So whilst I was waiting I made a batch of his favourite cherry scones. There’s something comforting about home baking and, of course, it also fills the house with the delicious smell of cake !

The pretty antique plate belonged to my grandmother and was produced by the Hollinshead & Kirkham pottery which was based in Tunstall, Stoke-On Trent between 1933 - 1942.

I like to think my grandmother also used the plate for her home baking. I was told that she was very good at making cakes!
