Coal face
It’s been a curious day weather-wise with the heavens threatening to open at any point, but always somehow just holding off.
I don’t know whether that has played into the visiting birds psyche, but the feeders got a right rinsing today and this little fella in particular got stuck in.
Sad though it may sound, I am delighted to have won my private war against the larger birds and scored a victory for the little guy. It’s only a little yard I have, so seeing blue, great and coal tits alongside a smattering of robins, long tail tits, a few goldfinches and an absolute ton of sparrows is fantastic.
The sparrow hawk from the other week has also been an unexpectedly fantastic yet horrific visitor.
The visitors have also been a welcome distraction from the frustrations of difficult working day.
Wondering what else I’ll need to tempt down to get me through the winter months?
Maybe an eagle......?
