When You’re Too Sleepy To Do It Yourself
When I got to the yard this morning, Paige was waiting for the vet to arrive as her horse Piper had a nasty kick in his shoulder and required stitches. Piper is a lovely rescue pony that came to Mel for training ready to be rehomed from a charity in Leeds. He had spent all his life in one small area with his brother and parents and although he was only 4 he had seen nothing of the world. As Paige works for Mel, she’s been heavily involved with his training and after a while it seemed that the only obvious answer seemed to be for Paige to adopt him permanently due to the strength of their relationship.
I took China out for his walk in hand on the physio’s advice. It was just the two of us and we were out for quite a while, I managed to clock up over 8000 steps so we are both working on our fitness!
When I got back to the yard, the vet had arrived and Piper had been sedated ready for treatment. I loved this image of Paige as to me it was saying....“true love is holding your head when you’re too sleepy to do it yourself”.
